If you know me and follow my work, you know that I love to photograph weddings. Weddings are a sort of combination of reportage, portrait, product and even architecture photography. In March I had the opportunity to use all these skills at one of the best Northamptonshire venues, Rushton Hall, where I had the pleasure of photographing Michael and Leigh’s wedding. Vintage cars, cigars, fantastic people and a live band—can it get any better than that? This recent wedding at Rushton Hall was literally a perfect day. So much positive energy, emotion and thrills in one place. There was a bride with loads of personality and horse-loving groom. Tears, joy and happiness! I felt delighted to have the opportunity to capture all of that on the photos.
Leigh visited my studio a year before the wedding. She knew exactly what she wanted—a fantastic day with lots of fun and photographs that reflected it all—and it sounded perfect to me. I immediately knew that this was going to be a great day. Shortly after that I met Michael, the groom. He appeared to be a calm, stoic person with a peaceful smile. I was excited about being their wedding photographer at Rushton Hall. A month before their wedding we had a quick run through the day and planned some photos outside. The couple had planned to get married in All Saints Church in Rushton. The church is just around the corner from the venue so the guests would only have a short walk between the two places. Unfortunately, the plans changed due to strong winds on the day. However, nothing was lost for Leigh and Michael! They didn’t give up and despite the weather we managed to get some photos outside Rushton Hall after the ceremony. In the afternoon we escaped for 10 minutes before the wedding breakfast. The master of ceremony was expecting us back soon so we quickly ran through the beautiful rooms of Rushton Hall. I was accompanied by an excellent videographer—John from New Venture Production. We had to work fast but had so much fun!
It was a truly amazing day and an enjoyable experience. It was great because Leigh and Mike are fantastic, genuine people, and they have many wonderful friends. It was a privilege to be their wedding photographer. Please enjoy a small selection from Michael and Leigh’s wedding photography at Rushton Hall. I’m very proud to be a Top Rated Wedding Photographer and receive another lovely rating and review:
“Before hiring Peter I read a review which sealed the deal for me, it went something like this. “Photographers need to blend in the background and not be noticed whilst capturing the intimate moments of a wedding. Peter did this, yet it was clear we all actually wanted Peter there. He blended in perfectly yet became an integral part of our day”. It couldn’t be more true. Thank you so much. We absolutely loved having you on our special day- if you weren’t taking such beautiful photographs we would have you as a guest. Thank you for not only taking wonderful pictures but for making us laugh and feel so comfortable. It was a pleasure having you with us. The pictures are just wonderful.” – Leigh & Michael.
